How can I take part?

When you have bought a credit pack, your credits are placed on your member account and you can begin to participate in our auctions.

  1. id on the product of your choice clicking on the "Bid" button
  2. The three highest bidders are displayed, with the highest bidder in 1st position
  3. Every time you bid on a product, the price increases by $ 0.01 (Here the cost of the click is $ 0.50, and the extenstion of time is 15 seconds)
  4. If you bid during the last 10 seconds, additional 15 seconds are added to the countdown.
If you are the highest bidder and if nobody takes the hand before the end of the countdown, you win the right to buy the product for the indicated price.
If you need to leave your screen, no problem!

You can replace text with: This allows you to schedule and monitor your auctions to place automatic bids for when you cannot manually bid.!

How to schedule the BidRobot?

  1. Click the photo or the name of your bid for which you wish schedule the BidRobot
  2. BidRobot is situated on the right side of your screen, you can schedule it by indicating:
    • The number of offers the BidRobot will place for you.
    • The maximum price you want the BidRobot not to exceed.
    • Click Validate.

You can interrupt the action of BidRobot at any time, clicking on "Disable"

How does BidRobot know when he has to do a new bid?
If for a same bid, only one BidRobot is scheduled, the offer will be placed then in a random way and automatically in the last 10 seconds of the bid. The price of the product will increase by $ 0.01 and additional 15 seconds will be added to the countdown.

If for a same bid, several Internet users scheduled some BidRobots, the offers will be placed at once back to back. The price of the product and the countdown will increase for each offer placed.

Advice: Ensure that the number of bids you wish place is not too low.

History of the bid: a strategic element!
Keep an eye on the bidding history, by verifying the number of participants that have bid in the last 15 minutes, and the type of placed offer for example 'manual bid'. If you only see manual bids, improve your chances on winning the bid by scheduling a BidRobot to place a bid for you.

How many Swoggi Credits do I need to participate?

Each Swoggi Credit cost only 50 pence and are available in "BidPack".
A bid allows you to place an offer. In order to place an offer, you have to buy bids. The bids are sold in packs containing a predefined number of bids once bought are added to your account.

Can you give me some advice on how to bid?

The auction model offered by Swoggi is an innovative and playful way to realize savings on your purchases.
To win products on Swoggi, there is no "sure-fire" winning strategy, but here are a few tips to help you get started, as well as a few of the traps that novice bidders sometimes fall into. Do not hesitate to test them!

  1. Place your offer in the last seconds of the bid:
Watch the countdown and try to place your bid in the final ten seconds. If the timer has reached this point, you know the auction will end with you as the winner unless another bid is placed.
  2. Start with the cheapest products
Although you can get some incredible bargains on our most expensive items, they also tend to be the most competitive auctions, attracting hundreds of bidders. Our cheaper products tend to have fewer bidders, meaning you’re much more likely to win.
  3. Tire the other bidders by using your BidRobot:
The BidRobot is a powerful tool, if you get the timing right you can scare off other bidders by placing one. Nobody likes to see their bids matched over and over again by your all conquering BidRobot, you might just persuade them to give up and try again next time.
  4. Turn the BidRobot of your competitors against them
On the other hand, some people have a ‘fire and forget’ policy with the BidRobot. It is easy to win with a quick single bid if your rival has gone to make a cup of tea safe in the knowledge that their BidRobot will protect them.
We’ve noticed that users tend to set the ‘Bid To’ value of their BidRobot to a round number, so watch out for this and you might be able to snap up a bargain by simply clicking on the “Bid” button when a BidRobot has just finished.
  5. Keep an eye on your rivals :
Try to determine the strategy of your competitors by observing the last 10 bids.
  6. Study the enclosed bid :
Check how many people participated to a closed auction for the product which you want to buy.
  7. Bid at the right time :
Choose the best time of the day to place your bids. During the slack periods where your competitors have less chance to be behind their screen: during lunch, during working hours...
  8. Be different:
If you use your BidRobot don't propose offers with round prices and enter prices almost to a penny

I've placed a bid but I am currently not the highest bidder, why?

When a bid is placed, it will always be the highest bid, but might get out-bid very quickly. This can happen for 2 reasons:

  • there are many bidders
  • there's another user's BidRobot also bidding on the auction.

You might not see this simply because other bids have been placed with a few seconds of each other - sometimes even within the same second!

What's the difference between a live auction and a future auction?

Live auctions are auctions where the countdown has started running. Future auctions are planned to start sometime in the future, so don't have a countdown that's running. You cannot bid on a future auction until the countdown begins.

Can I bid on a future auction?

No. You have to wait until the countdown starts and that the bid status displays "live auction" to be able to propose offers.

When does an auction end?

An auction is ended when the countdown reaches 00:00:00.

How many auctions can I win within a 1-month period?

Swoggi has limited the number of auctions that you can win within 1 month to a maximum of eight.

Why this limitation?

  • To allow every user (especially the new members) to have a chance to take win an auction.
  • To avoid unnecessary credit loss.

How does the BidRobot work?

The BidRobot works for you while you are away from your computer: it places bids for you.

Simply choose your price range and the maximum number of bids that you want the BidRobot to use. The BidRobot will then bid automatically for you within your price range.

However, the BidRobot waits until the last 10 seconds of an auction to end to place a bid.

The “BidRobot “ automatically stops bidding when it has reached the limit that is set.

Hint:
  • You must book a minimum of 2 bids for the BidRobot to be able to bid.
  • You can only book one BidRobot at a time for a same aucton. As soon as the first BidRobot is no longer active, you can book the next BidRobot.
  • Your maximum price has to be at least $ 1.00 higher than the current end price.
  • A BidRobot can be deleted at any point.
  • In order to delete a BidRobot, please click the small red cross in the BidRobot Overview, which you can find next to the BidRobot

How does the BidRobot know when to bid?

f there is only one BidRobot booked to bid on the auction, the bid will be placed randomly and automatically at any point within the final ten seconds. The countdown will then extend to a maximum of 20 seconds for each bid that is placed. If there are two or more BidRobot bidding against each other, all the consecutive BidRobot bids are placed immediately, and the price and countdown increase with each BidRobot bid placed.

Hint : Ensure that the price ranges you choose are not too close together.

Where can I see my booked BidRobots?

  • Placed bids on a live auction
You can view placed BidRobot bids, by logging into your Swoggi account, than go on the page “My Bids”.
  • All active BidRobot
Log into your account and go to the page Bids > My BidRobots, In this overview, all active BidRobots are shown. A BidRobot is considered as active until all BidRobot bids are placed, until the product price has reached the maximum price of a BidRobot or if you delete the BidRobot.
